If other locations are wanted, places can be swapped out. Pricing may be more or less depending on where the locations are in relation to Hilo.
Your guide, Bryan, is a captivating storyteller and knowledgeable about the island and culture!

Sunset & Geothermal Hot Ponds
Description: We start by driving along one of the prettiest coastal roads on the island, close to the ocean and lava cliffs, near tidepools and spots with breathtaking views!
Our first stop will include an unforgettable location where we will learn about various Hawaiian plants, customs and beliefs.
Then we mosey on down to the newest black sand beach, created from the 2018 flow and swim in three different geothermal ponds, including one hard to find, picturesque hot spring in the jungle that will not disappoint! These are the ONLY hot ponds on ANY of the Hawaiian islands. It’s well worth any long drive :)There is no lava flow to view, the ponds are heated by the magma underground making natural hot tubs! The springs range from about 99-105 degrees depending on the time of day.
Time: 4PM
Length: 3 Hours
Price: $125, contact us prior to booking a private tour.
Notes: This is the most relaxing of all our tours. However, the ground walking between the 3 hot ponds is not paved or level, it is raw, rugged lava rock. People should only book this tour if they are comfortable walking on such surfaces. You will need some sort of water shoe or sandal that can get wet at the very least. IT IS ROCKY and you do not want to walk from pond to pond in bare feet. If you will be doing a lot of water activities, lava tube exploration, etc. I HIGHLY suggest felt bottom reef shoes. They are only sold on island (you won't find them online, not even on Amazon). Walmart carries them NEXT TO THE LIFE JACKETS (not with the other water shoes!), Hilo Ocean Adventures or J Hara's will also have them usually.

Hawaiian Honu & Reef Snorkeling
Description: Have you dreamt of swimming with sea turtles? Snorkeling with various fish? Swimming in pacific waters as the vigorous ocean waves crash upon lava rocks not far away? Then this is the experience for you!
We will ocean hop to two different spots where we will swim with wildlife, snorkel, explore, float and enjoy Hawai'i and all her majestic beauty!
While wildlife is certainly on no strict schedule, we are sure to encounter various species throughout the tour. Our hope is always to see turtles, however since it’s wildlife and not a zoo I cannot guarantee anything. What I can guarantee, is that we WILL see beautiful coral, HUGE sea urchins, tons of colorful fish and sea cucumbers. Sometimes we see eel or even octopus! It is a rare occasion that we do not see the Hawaiian honu (turtle), but either way I will teach you about the coral, reef fish, āina and share turtle facts with you!
Please keep in mind, we must stay 10 feet from turtles by law at all times.
The currents can be quite strong which can make swimming harder. Terrain is also rough in some areas. Please be mindful of your limits and comfort level when booking this. If you think you will be slower than others, please book a PRIVATE tour.
Schedule: Typically offered M/W/F/Sat.
Time: 12pm
Length: 2.5 Hours
Price: $125, contact us prior to booking a private tour.
Notes: You will need some sort of water shoe at the very least. IT IS ROCKY and there are sea urchins. I provide snorkels, masks and wetsuits. I have some sizes of water shoes as well. If you would like fins, please bring your own. We get out of the water and walk sometimes so I prefer to not have fins.
For those that are proficient ocean swimmers looking for more of an adventure, freediving, lava tubes and swim throughs, swims that are further from shore, etc. I can plan a customized experience for a private tour! Contact me for more details.

Madam Pele's Volcano Hike
Description: This experience is a cultural hike to Kīlauea, THE most active volcano in the WORLD, with history of the flows/eruptions, the volcanoes that formed the island, Hawaiian deities & more! You will leave with a greater appreciation and understanding of Hawaii & the culture! Whether there is lava or not, we will be at the foot of a steamy crater with an epic, bucket list view!
In this tour we will hike to one of the best viewing locations of the volcano summit, a lookout to where Madam Pele resides! The hike is less than an hour roundtrip and mostly flat terrain.
Sunrise or sunset tours will be held when lava is not flowing, 10PM tours will be held when lava is flowing.
We also share mo’olelo (stories), cultural information, & the history of the 2018 lava flow which drastically impacted many things on island including the area we will be walking on.
Time: 6am/5pm
Length: 1.5 Hours
Price: $75, contact us prior to booking a private tour.
Notes: We provide head lamps. You should dress in WARM layers. It is better to have too much than not enough, the elevation is 4,000 ft so it can be quite chilly! Closed toe shoes or warm boots are best. The glow and lava activity does vary. On a clear night the stars are breathtaking!
The lava flow does pause from time to time. Contact us to see if there is currently lava. To be at the summit of the worlds MOST active volcano is breathtaking either way! You will about the culture and leave with a greater appreciation for the island you are on!

Jungle Hike to Beach with Sea Turtles
This experience encompasses the island in all of her beauty from gorgeous banyan trees, lava rocks, crystal clear ocean water and usually tons of turtles if we are lucky!
The hike is about 6 miles roundtrip, the trail and beach often has only 1-2 other groups of people and sometimes none! Making it like our own private oasis. The hike is fairly easy as it doesn't have any elevation gain being at sea level however, is fairly rocky and muddy. I suggest hiking in rain boots due to the mud. The hike can be done in 1-2 hours each way, depending on pace. Even on hot, sunny days it's beautiful as we are shaded by trees the whole time. The brackish water at the beach is so refreshing after the hike! This is one of the few white sand beaches on the east side of the island, the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. You can even bring a raft to float around in this epic scenery!
Length: 4 hours
Price: $150/person
Notes: The hike in and out will be easy for some and more strenuous for others that perhaps aren't use to walking much. Please know yourself and plan accordingly.
Cave of Refuge Lava Tube Hike
Description: This hike takes you along a lava field not far from a cliff overlooking the ocean, into the jungle where fearless travelers will crawl into a small hole in the ground, entering the earth (lava tube). This tube leads to an epic view of the ocean and has some interesting history on why it was created. Called The Cave of Refuge, it lives up to its name! Epic photo ops on this tour!
Length: 2.5 Hours/3 Miles
Price: $125, contact us prior to booking a private tour.
Notes: Travelers should be in good physical condition for this hike. It is NOT on level ground but instead over a lava flow. The entrance to the cave is small and there are areas where you have to crouch down. We do not recommend this tour for anyone with claustrophobia.
